Schuylkill River Public Docks in Philadelphia, PA
If you've never been to Philadelphia, one thing that becomes rather annoying is the lack of a waterfront. Sandwiched between two rivers—the Schuylkill to the west and the Delaware to the east—Philadelphia should have some sort of public access to the rivers. Delaware River is a river to be wary of on a small craft is lined with piers and big box department stores with large, all-encompassing buildings with massive parking lots. Along the Schuylkill River, ancient steps that lead to the water exist but aren't exactly the type of thing one would want to traverse carrying a kayak overhead, nor are there any decent locations nearby to park an automobile. Thus I've taken it upon myself to find areas suitable for parking a car and launching a kayak and took my travels to Google Maps. Click here to see the interactive map.
